Welcome, Willow! Willow has joined ‘I Found the Colors’ as an intern this fall. Willow is both incredibly skilled in many valuable areas and wonderfully enthusiastic!
Hello! My name is Willow Windrum. In 2020, after obtaining my Associates Degree, I moved to Washington State to reconnect with roots and continue my studies. Currently, I am an Evergreen student focusing on botany and medicinal plant studies. This is how I met Professor Marja, who became both a teacher and mentor. As I dove further into ethnobotany, I began exploring my ancestral roots, looking more into my Sicilian heritage and discovering the many ways in which humans interact with plants. Outside of academics, I also explored my creativity in many ways, from writing to ceramics and sculpture as well as photography and other forms of expression. With this broad creative toolbox – along with my passion for plants and science – I brought what Marja was looking for. So, here I am with I’ Found the Colors’ working to help Marja continue the mission of education, community-building, and creativity. I look forward to getting to know you more and really helping to build something during my time here
Willow hopes to create a permanent position for herself next year, and I am hopeful too!
