Classes

Learning to dye with plants revitalizes our relationships with the natural world, with our clothes, and with our creativity. Classes are offered throughout the year with options for safe participation: (1) entirely on-line or (2) hybrid modes including some outdoor small groups sessions.

What’s coming up?

July More to come:
Learning to dye with local and heritage-based plants revitalizes our relationships with the natural world, with our families and ancestry, and with the people around us –– including those exploited by the mainstream dye, textile, and fashion industries. Through this, natural dyeing helps to shift our view of the clothes we wear, our ideas and values related to color, and our understanding of practices that, through most of history, have been collective, culturally-rooted, and place-based. Lastly, this tradition offers avenues for revitalizing the livelihood of plant dyers who choose to sell their creations, teach their practices, and participate in sharing skills and resources. That could be you!
